British Bettors Make Up a Third of All European Net Bettors
The net wagering industry in the United Kingdom has increased two fold in five years, with greater than one million gamblers commonly gambling via the web. According to research carried out by the Dept. of Culture, Media and Sport, British gamblers make up approx. 1/3rd of the Old World’s estimated total of 3 300 000 internet bettors.
The average cash amount spent by each bettor is approximated at £1,000, with the European business now worth £3 500 000 000 each year.
Amongst the 70 web betting casinos in the UK, none are gaming websites promoting casino card games like poker and chemin de fer. A better part of the globe’s two thousand net gambling sites are based in locations with dubious online betting rules. Antigua and Costa Rica account for more than one thousand casinos between them.
The Gov’t in the United Kingdom is hoping to introduce practices and a tax setup to control the functioning of the online betting business. With such regulatory framework in place, online gaming activities would be observed and the industry will achieve even bigger penetration in the next few years.
