Net Casino Sucker Wagers — Part II

  • Progressive side bets: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker regularly have one of these. You usually put a bet (a dollar is the usual amt.) to try to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of $25,000. Though huge jackpots like these are extremely appealing, they’re also particularly hard to succeed. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, think about this- you wager twenty hands and place the side bet each time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the real game bet instead of a sucker bet. Just think about what you might have been able to win at a wager with greater odds employing that 20 dollars.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only 1. This takes the overall casino edge from 2.63percent with one zero wheel to a whopping 5percent in American. The individual number bet has just a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers alternately which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you wager on it, the house advantage can be a whopping 25%. No, that isn’t a typo. Due to the huge set of numbers you have to select, it’s not recommended to wager on Keno very much. A couple of times for fun, maybe. But do not spend all your cash on it or you’ll immediately discover yourself broke.
